About

My name is Matthew Bertellotti, and I’m a wildlife photographer located in the great state of Montana. I self taught myself the ins and outs of photography and focused my passion towards wildlife! I try to spend as much time as I can in the field to capture moments that others may not be fortunate enough to see while promoting wildlife conservation and proper ethics.

I started off with a rebel t5i and a kit lens my freshman year of college and explored around public land, looking to freeze moments in nature. It was during one of my outings, I stumbled upon an owl’s nest and that was all it took. The connection I felt was something I wanted to re-create everyday. Eventually I saved up and upgraded both my lens and camera body and it was off to the races!

I spend about 80% of my time outdoors. Whether it be working my day job or my time off, I’m out searching for a critter to photograph. My favorite subjects, without a doubt are Great Gray Owls. There’s just something about their yellow eyes when they look directly at you.

I’ve been published in local as well as national magazines, through the Official Montana Tourism board, a variety of conservation groups, and State organizations as well to promote our beautiful home-state where we only have one area code: 406.
